It seems that he package doesn't work with quite old MacOS X Our Mac maintainer is currently on holidays but someone on the forum has created a new package. I will try to upload it somewhere to have this new package tested by Mac users.

I have a lot of trouble with asm too.
I use mac OSX 10.4.11 and i use amsn 0.97 and some few days it doesn't arrive to connect ( i always have a connection error message ). So i download amsn-0-97-final2 20-18-46.dmg and amsn-0-97-final2.dmg and i have the same error message : "this application may crash your system".
So i can't.
it's very annoy. My girlfriend is now in USA and i cant' caht with her. I use meebo but it isnt as powerful as amsn.

I tried 0.97.0 - apparently I do not have all the authorization to update some files when I transfer the newer aMSN to my Applications file... ( ??) I tried 0.97.1 - same thing. Then 0.97.2 - able to update my files but program quit before even logging. I have a Power PC G4 operating on Mac OSX 10.3.9 It has now been two weeks that I am unable to use aMSN while MSN works fine... (oh, and I tried the 0.98 beta versions - same thing as 0.97.2: program quit before even logging in)

Which version is it? I have tried all the 0.97's AND 0.98 beta versions 1, 2 and 3...
BTW, An improvement: Still I can't transfer aMSN to "applications" ("You do not have tha authorization... bla bla") BUT I now get the login screen. However, after I entered my password, aMSN gets stuck on "login in"... (like 0.96)

Please advise on what to do, b/c I am lost and I do not know what to do... I just want to get my aMSN back  If anyone has any ideas that haven't been posted yet please let me know.....

try to make sure that ALL previous versions of aMSN are uninstalled, and maybe it might be good to check that you have the appropriate version of tcl/tk for aMSN. Being a Windows user I don't know if it's just a matter of deleting the .dmg, or if there is an actuall uninstall process you need to go through, my guess is that there is an uninstall process.
