Hi:
I installed amsn on my fedora core 5 by using the root command "yum install amsn amsn-plugins".
but when iam trying to login using the amsn it doesnt login at all .no errors occured at all just not login.

Be sure to use amsn-0.97.2

whoa, Fedora 5?
try to use a recent version of your OS...!
and, as billiob said, use the lastest version of aMSN to get rid of this problem.

i download amsn-0.97.2.tar.gz and that what i did and what errors came:
# tar -xzvf amsn-0.97.2.tar.gz
# cd amsn-0.97.2
# ./configure
checking for prefix by checking for wish... /usr/bin/wish
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... yes
checking whether we are cross compiling... no
checking for suffix of executables...
checking for suffix of object files... o
checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking for gcc option to accept ISO C89... none needed
checking for g++... g++
checking whether we are using the GNU C++ compiler... yes
checking whether g++ accepts -g... yes
checking tcl build dir... using tcl library in /usr/lib
checking tk build dir... using tk library in /usr/lib
./configure: line 3611: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory

what is tkConfig.sh and how can i get it to fix this error?

install tcl-dev, tk-dev

you have tcl dev but not tk dev.. or give it appropriate path with --with-tk=/usr/lib/tk8.4
