Hi there,

First of all, thanks for making best open source MSN messenger a lot better!
I know that it may be too early to request it, but could you make aMSN2 GUI's work with one HTML engine (webkit etc.) so that some beautiful message styles (like in adium) can be implemented later? I think this could take aMSN one step further from other MSN messengers.

Yeah, we're planning on creating a message style standard with the IMFreedom organization and have aMSN2 follow that standard.. we'll base it off adium's message styles (or use it directly) and we'll try to make aMSN2 compatible with adium's message style so we'll get a huge list of really nice message styles working out of the box.

For the non-Mac (and therefore non-Adium) user, what is a message style? Don't you just set the font size, and strikeout italics, and bold?

<off-topic>I thought Adium was a direct port to Mac of Gaim/Pidgin?</off-topic>

yep, it's "themes" for chat windows.. that's what they call message styles... basically, it's html with CSS...

oh ok lol, yeah I thought as much, the looked more integrated with the app itself too though or is that because there was a skin and cw theme that go together?

Besides the normal Msn look of message styles, is it possible to make a message style that looks something like the iChat text bubbles:

This is Adium by the way with a HUD mod.

@constantin : please read this thread correctly before asking question... I said we would have Adium compatible message styles, and this is still way too early to talk about this anyway...
