Hi,

We would like to announce to everybody that the aMSN team will be meeting at the FOSDEM conference this year in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of February 2008.
This will be the first meeting of the aMSN team, so we're very excited to get together finally, after working together for so long without ever meeting or having the slightest idea of what everyone looks like.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite everybody who has the ability to attend the FOSDEM conference, or who will be in or around Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of February, to come and meet us, we will be delighted to meet our fans, hum.. I mean, users!
Apart from being able to see us face to face and talk to us (mainly bow before us and thank us for our fabulous work...), have a little fun, etc.. We will be handing out free t-shirts customized with the aMSN logo and a nice tag line (details below). So if you want one.. see you in Brussels!

T-Shirt details : The t-shirt's design is not yet decided, we would like to have a t-shirt with the aMSN's logo as well as "aMSN Messenger" written on it and something else, a tag line.. but we don't know what to write there yet..So if you have any idea, just post the ideas here so it can help us find something cool or funny to put on the t-shirt. The one who comes up with a nice catch phrase will be rewarded with one of the t-shirts sent directly to his house (or his school's lab, depending on how geek he is :p).
You can also post your preferences on the color of the shirt or the printing (one color allowed for the printing and one for the 'background' color of the shirt)

At the same time, I'd like to tell you that we would love to give out free t-shirts to everyone who got involved in this great project and helped us make it what it is today. We're planning on shipping t-shirts t

I didn't want to 'stain' the post.. so, as a separate post, here's a URL that you might want to take a look at for the current preparations being made : http://www.amsn-project.net/wiki/FOSDEM_2008
If you feel you deserve a t-shirt, send me by PM your details : t-shirt size and address or whatever... more importantly, t-shirt size for now.. the address, we'll see later how we'll do for the shipping or whatever...
We will order the t-shirts by the end of this week, so try to reply as soon as possible.

Hey, I saw the price of about 3.92 euro on the Wiki. Thats like C$8.00 for a tshirt. My buddy used to do promotions work before he moved to Edmonton but he was planning on continuing to do the work. I just sent him an SMS to find out if he can do it and have the order placed by the end of the week. I can get everything arranged and get him the images for the tshirt, but I would need more info. I will let you know the pricing, do you want a PM for the details?

Hi clookie!
The page you found is probably what you need to get there..
We don't have a stand, it's not like we're participating in FOSDEM, we'll just be attending like any other person going to the conference. We won't be doing any talk or have a stand, we'll just go to the conference, and we tried to have as many developers go so we can meet. Our meeting place will probably be at the hotel or something :p
You can come if you want of course, that's the purpose of this post! It's not just for developers, but it will be a good chance to meet the developers!
See you soon in Brussels, I hope! Smiley

Hi H@T trick.. I just saw your message.. I replied yesterday before you wrote it..
Well thanks for the suggestion! let's see what you can find out. I'm in Montreal, Canada, so maybe we can arrange to get the t-shirts from you and I can bring them with me, but only if it's more economic/better. By the way, it's not 8$, it's 5.89$ (http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=3.92+euro+to+cad&sourceid=opera&num=100&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8), so it would have to be really cheap! Wink
Thanks for trying to help Smiley

Ahh ok, that makes more sense, I thought the exchange was around 2 to 1, must be our strong dollar Tongue I'll let you know. I sent the link to my buddy so I will see what he said. Only thing is he will need the image in an Adobe Illustrator format apparently.
I will let you know.

My tag line would be "i shit on Microsoft" but aMSN is also made for Windows so i guess you cant really say that nor does it have anything to do with aMSN anyway. Tongue i might design something, not that im any good with The GIMP or anything, but i get bored sometimes.

Hey, that's about 5 minutes walking from where I study (VUB, the Dutch variant of ULB), so I might pay you guys a visit if I don't forget.
Do you speak French or English (probably not Dutch)?
