Hi Bigbadben (btw nice nick)
So...
to set a color you can use [c=#HEXCOLOR]nick[/c]
Hexcolour is an hex number, for a list of colour you can see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colors (Hex triplet column)
or you can set [c=NN]nick[/c] where NN is an irc style code. (example: 0 white, 1 black, ... etc...)
nick -> bold nick
nick -> italic style
[a=HEXCOLOR]nick[/a] or [a=IRCCOLOR]nick[/a] -> background
nick -> overstriked nick
nick/u] -> underlined nick

an example: [c=8]in yellow[c=4]in red bolded[/c]in yellow again and still bolded[/c]

then you can set a faded color for the nick and/or background in this way: [c=0]nick[c=4] this show a nick that fade from white to red.

Anyway you can get samples from your contact list and google is your friend ^___^

Can you add in your plugin the possibility of no put colors in the CL? Cheesy
Only extract tags (deplus, deplus-live, zdeplus doesn't work with up-to-date svn version)

Hi,  I have ubuntu 7.04 with amsn 0.97svn tcl/tk 8.5.

I update amsn from svn every day.
I'm using ColoredNicks 2.1.1 and from a couple of days I have a problem with this plugin.
When is activated the memory of amsn's process increases much in short time (for example , 5 minutes = 350mb).
I tried to activated only this plugin and also the previous version but I have the same problem

What I can do?

I don't think that you enter in a loop...

Yes, i see the contact list and everythings is ok, except this plugin.

I tried few minutes ago, with "svn -r #" where # is the svn version.
From 8344 to 8545 is ok.
From 8546 to every version I have the problem with ColoredNicks

EDIT: The file that cause this problem is "guicontactlist.tcl", updated in 8546 where the drawing of contact list is changed much

Anyone have my same problem?

@lbrfabio : it's not a bug in plugin but maybe a bug in aMSN core....
what I can't understand is where you can get a memory leak...
What is your OS ?
@square87 : when do you think you will release the last version of your plugin ? If I remember well it should fix bugs Wink
By the way, I just added parsing of our own nick/PSM and we display it on the top... So time comes to make a nickname creator !!

Ubuntu 7.04 amd64

I have just noted that in amsn svn 8545 the memory leak is slow but in 3 hours amsn's process is 100mb Sad

I have no idea where I can have this memory leak. Maybe in contact list's draw?

Hi,
You can try something :
restart aMSN
open status log and execute here "llength [image names]"
a few time later, when you noticed the memory leak, reexecute it. If it is a huge number compared to the old one, you can put somewhere on the net and give link here, the result of your status log BEFORE and AFTER you executed "image names"
That will give us a preview of some errors in parsing and overall, a list of all your images...
Hum just thought about privacy troubles... If you can post it somewhere, give me the link through PM. If you can't please advise me and I will contact you by mail...

In status log I have noticed that when I activate ColoredNicks there are these errors...a lot of errors
I updated few minutes ago the guicontactlist.tcl but the problem remains the same

Why square87 produces such tags.... They aren't good for aMSN... Anyway maybe it's them that cause memory leak but I am not sure...
