hehe, yes, we are different! and indeed billiob, I'm not good in spanish, I can understand half of it, and say none of it Tongue
mtz4life, Thanks for the URL, I didn't know about that interview (or forgot).
KaKaRoTo (me) is named : Youness Alaoui
Alvaro J. Iradier is someone else, but he's the 'owner' of aMSN and we still consider him our godfather!  even if he's not as active as he would like to be.
I'm the lead developer, the leader indeed, I'm very active in the mailing list and the forums, but I'm not active anymore as a developer, unfortunately.
If you read the story, you'll understand the history of aMSN. I'm not the one who started it, it was Alvaro, then Didimo entered the game, then he left, and burger (Philippe Kalaf) entered the team, I entered the team later on (as the 4th developer), then burger kind of retired, then some other people entered/left the team, I also became inactive, then Alvaro became busy, he also became inactive, then  I became active again, and since then, a few years ago, I'm leading the team while Alvaro has a real life! We hope to see him back soon! Smiley
I think it sums it up pretty much... if I said something wrong, please correct me (anyone who thinks I was wrong).

oh, ok ..thanks for the clarification ..i always wondered about this ..

"KaKaRoTo" ..very interesting nickname ..what does it mean, if you dont mind ..in swahil language, "kaka" means "brother" ..so if i had a brother called "Roto" .i will call him "Kaka Roto" as in "brother Roto" .when i read your name, it always sounds like i am reading "brother Roto" and not "KakaRoto"

ps
swahili is the language mostly spoken in east africa.

Hey tx for the explanation KKRT, it's pretty interesting to know Wink
Just one more question  Tongue : IIRC, when I start with Linux and aMSN, I think I wait for one year with aMSN 0.94 before seeing 0.95. And now it seems new versions are coming faster and faster - is that just an impression or am I right? And if I'm, what did happen that fasten aMSN project like that ?
Anyway it's nice to see aMSN becoming greater and greater Wink

And, what about the rest, Kaka means shit in many languages, as Vivia told us (in french also, but written "caca";-)), but it seems it doesn't in brasilian portuguese -> just think about Kaka, the player of the Seleçao Cheesy I hope for him he won't never know it Cheesy

Hey hey hey as a Portuguese I must stand up Tongue Here we don't use "k" or "y" or "w" or any of those letters Tongue but we have things like "ã, õ, é, à" and stuff like that Tongue Horray Tongue Portuguese is one of the hardest languages to learn (hell, I've been Portuguese for 20 years (my age Tongue) and I can't speak truly correctly Tongue (lazy I guess Tongue)), but it's also a fact that Portuguese people have an ease to learn foreign languages Smiley anyway, as ew don't use "k", the word "kaka" would be read "caca" and it means crap, shit, whatever Tongue oh and "roto" by it self means something I can't translate but think of it as a hole in a piece of clothing, we say it's.. :S damn I don't know the word.. like a net that is damaged, or broken, is is.. *missing verb :S* Oh and that Seleçao word, you almost got it, it's written: Selecção (Portuguese!). Wink any way, it's always great to see Portugal isn't forgotten Wink Wink

Ow if it is really with "cç", then all french speaking medias made the same mistake - isn't it different in "true" portuguese and "brasilian" portuguese?
BTW, I never forgot Portugal, and I'm so unhappy they didn't kick France ass Cheesy Cheesy

And I've no idea of the word u're looking for, sorry Smiley

Yeap it's "Seleccção Nacional" Tongue I don't know about Brasilian, I don't like the way they made up so many words and screwed them so a word here in Portugal means one thing and the same word in Brasil means something else :S anyway I'm also sad they didn't make it to the Finals (and win Tongue) but it's only because we are saving energy for 2010 Tongue Tongue Tongue

..mmh, foreign languages are interesting..its customary rude and ill mannered to call a brother simply by their first name without that important "brother" and "dada" for "sister" ..so my causin used to call me "kaka francis" as in "brother francis" ..after a while, he just shortened it to "kaka" only and that is perfecly ok ..dutch and portuguese came to east africa and swahili language incorporate some of these languages in it ..i wonder why this "kaka" word survived when it sounds offensive and i have never heared of this before ..

..i wonder what would have happen if me and my cousin were cruising downtown a major city in portugal and he calls me "caca" all the time .. Cheesy

I don't think there would be a problem as "Caca" is not offencive it's like a word we say to babies when they put something in their mouth that they shouldn't... it's not really offencive.. "shit" is merda but hey I don't want to be the one to teach you how to curse Tongue Tongue

Oh yes, just do it FdB, a little lesson of good portuguese words Cheesy Cheesy

Sure, u'll kick their ass in South Africa, and I allow you to do it first during the Euro 2008 Wink
And don't worry I don't know anything about any portuguese, but I'll keep goin' usin' Seleção, so that all frenchspeaking readers'll understand me Cheesy

mtz4life, I don't know in your own language(s), but I agree with FdB, it's not really offensive (but I would hate to have such a name Cheesy), so that's perhaps why they keep using it, I don't know Wink
